This Year's Model Updates:

For 2003, 17-inch wheels are standard, replacing the 16-inchers. The climate control front seats and park-assist feature, formerly included only with the Ultra Luxury or Custom Luxury packages, are now available as stand-alone options. Finally, base cars ordered with the climate control front seats now feature perforated leather trim throughout.

Pros:
  • Superb ride quality, impressive array of standard and optional luxury features, top-notch interior materials, Lexus reliability.
Cons:
  • Not quite as athletic as its competitors, adding options raises the price to un-Lexuslike levels.

This vehicle is outstanding; it drives like a dream. I previously owned a 2000 ES 300, its performance and style were excellent and top notch; but the LS 430 is even more comfortable and luxurious.

  • Should be better - 2003 Lexus LS 430

I purchased my 2nd Lexus with high expectations, but Lexus is headed in the wrong direction. My LS430 has been in the shop for a variety of reasons (power windows, door locks, engine problems). The ride has been softened to the point that it is virtually Buick- like ... wallowing over bumps. Fuel economy of 16 mpg is absurd. Minor details of poor build quality abound. The engine should propel this vehicle with alacrity, but does not. I fear for my wife and I at times on busy highways. For an expediture of this magnitude, one should receive the highest reliability, and a sublime driving experience. We shall be looking for a replacement.

  • Lexus at its best!! - 2003 Lexus LS 430

I recently purchased this car used. Out of all the series of the LS, this is probably the best. Also, if buying used, make sure the previous owner(s) maintained it properly as this will have a huge bearing on the current condition of the car. I had a 2000 LS400 that was poorly maintained previously and the transmission started slipping on me. I also test drove a used LS460 but did not feel as comfortable as the 430. It felt too stiff for my taste as I live in pot- holed NYC. Surprisingly, Im getting almost 20 mpg in city driving. So far, great car!

This is the best car ever. I love the navigation system. This tortally beats my preivous infinite q45. This is very reliable and luxurious. If you are looking you a really nice luxury car get the ls430.

  • No longer a German Afficianado - 2003 Lexus LS 430

After many years of stating I would NEVER own a Japanese luxury car, I was compelled to eat my own words. I have had numerous German vehicles and thought that handling, fit, finish, performance and attention to detail was soley the realm of the German manufacturer. After being shoddily handled by a MB dealer when attempting to trade in a SC500, I drove to the Lexus dealer and found to my great surprise that I had missed the finest luxury vehicle available in the United States in the under $75k range.

  • Best value for the buck! - 2003 Lexus LS 430

The vehicle is a dream to drive. Excellent on road trips. Smooth as silk. The gas consumption was not bad at all, even at higher speeds. Comfortable for all.

  • And its still a 96 S-Class - 2003 Lexus LS 430

You would except to buy a unique and original vehicle when you aiming to spend $60K. However, with Lexus LS you always get an exact copy of 6-8 year- old Mercedes for the price of the current model. In my opinion, it’s just pathetic that the “luxury” automaker copies old competitors styles. Essentially, Toyota is meant to be cheap but reliable car and this is what Lexus is. I might have leather seats and decent audio system, but it’s still a Toyota, not a Mercedes or Jag in any way. Personally, for $60K I better get the original, that the 2-generations- behind replica.

  • An awesome car - 2003 Lexus LS 430

I have had a 96 LS, 2000 RX, and a 2003 GS. This is by far my favorite Lexus. I am 62 and about 300 lbs and this car has an abundant amt of room. Navigation is awesome. My son wont stop playing with it! My only issue is paint chips on the front. This is a great car!
